For reporters

You were there. That is the whole qualification.

Witness does not assign stories, does not commission coverage, and does not send anyone anywhere. You report what you see where you already are.

01

How payment works

Licensing. When a newsroom, an organization, or a research team licenses a file you captured, 70 percent of that is yours. There is no per-event payment, because paying per event pays people to manufacture events and to run toward danger.

02

What you keep

The file, the rights, and the ability to license it elsewhere. Witness is the marketplace and the verification layer, not the owner of your work.

03

How standing works

Accuracy over time raises your standing, and standing raises the weight a single report from you carries on its own.

04

Safety

Exact coordinates are never published. Location and network signals are never used against you. No facial recognition. Protective modes are available and explained in full inside the app before you rely on them.

Newsrooms pay for what you capture. Your footage stays yours.
